Zubarah is an archeological site in the North of Qatar that is currently being excavated by the University of Copenhagen for Qatar.

Zubarah city was an old vibrant pearl and fishing city that fell to ruins only 150 years ago, but yet was an incredibly important international trading center, connecting trading routes north and south, east and west. Currently being excavated and renovated, it will become Qatar premier heritage park and possible UNESCO heritage site.
